A strong display does not need the largest set in the range — it needs the right silhouette and spacing.
Shelf depth is usually the limiting measurement, so narrow models with a strong front view are easier to live with than wide vehicles or deep buildings. Height can be useful when the space above a shelf would otherwise remain empty.
Choose depth before piece count
Leaving a little negative space around a model improves it more than adding another small set beside it. A simple riser can separate overlapping silhouettes and allow two compact builds to share the same area.
Lighting should reveal shape rather than flood every surface. A soft strip placed above or behind the display creates enough contrast for dark pieces while avoiding the harsh reflections that appear on glossy tiles.
